Dissemination of evidence-based practice research especially through nursing and/or health conferences and in relevant professional journals is necessary for ensuring that new and vital health information are shared amongst health professionals, for the purpose of improving nursing practice and providing current and informed patient care services. According to Brownson et al (2018), the gap between public health knowledge and application in practice settings and policy development is due in part to ineffective dissemination; and the authors identifies publication in academic journals and presentation in conferences as the most common methods for disseminating new knowledge.
In view of this, one notable professional journal where I might present my project is the Online Journal of Issues in Nursing (OJIN). This mission of OJIN is to present timely information required by nurses and other health care professionals to provide current and informed patient care, to be socially responsive health care professionals, and to meet professional development needs. Considering the relatedness of OJIN’s mission and my change project which focuses on the issue of burnout amongst nurses, I think this choice is the best to disseminate my findings. Secondly, the fact that the journal is now being published by the American Nurses Association makes it the best option for disseminating my findings because of its capacity to reach a wider audience.
Aside the possibility of publishing my project in a professional journal like OJIN: The Online Journal of Issues in Nursing, one health care conference where I might present my project is the Pulsus Conference. Pulsus Conference organizes and produces high quality Healthcare Conferences and exhibitions with a professional focus on medicine and nursing, in order to empower clinicians to provide safe and quality care, reduce the cost of health care, increase access to care, and entrepreneurial solutions for meeting the needs of patients and caregivers. This choice of health care conference is best for disseminating my findings because it is a good and recognized forum for meeting and sharing knowledge with health care professionals across the USA, Europe, and Asia Pacific,

Dissemination of evidence-based practice entails the ability to increase the number of people who access evidence, increase motivation among people to use and apply evidence and also increase the ability of people to use and apply evidence. National conferences, participation in journal clubs, use of posters and, podium displays are some of the opportunities for dissemination of evidence-based practice. To ensure that evidence reaches more people, one should make sure that considerations of the beneficiaries and the impact that the evidence will have (Novins, Green, Legha, & Aarons, 2013). My project entails the study of arising technological advancements in cancer therapy, more so for young patients and care techniques to complement the changing nursing practice. The Journal of Clinical Oncology is thus a viable option to present my evidence. Besides, this journal has other materials on oncology where interested nurses might stumble across my article. The Oncology Nursing Society organizes conferences where I could make my presentation. As a member of this society, identifying possible opportunity for presenting my research by use of the virtual platform, is easier as compared to that of a non-member (ONS, 2020).
