Now that you have had an in-depth instruction on how to search library databases, locate two additional peer-reviewed journal essays. Ideally your examples should introduce new ideas and perspectives to your thought process.

Address the following:

  1. Which library databases are best to use for your topic (remember, these databases do not all have to fit into one defined discipline)? Or, did you use Google Scholar?
  2. Describe the search strategies you used to limit your topic (i.e., keyword versus subject searching; Boolean operators; date limitations; and certainly peer-reviewed limiters.).
  3. Evaluate the authority of the authors. Would you target these authors for further research? Why or why not?
  4. Have the authors of these sources come to different conclusions? What does that have to do with their disciplinary conventions, authority, or bias?
  • Your paper should be 3-4 pages in length (not counting title and reference page) and formatted according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing & APA.
  • Papers should be double-spaced, using 12-point type in Times New Roman font. Be sure to include a reference page in addition to the APA citations even though you included the citation in your essay.
  • You may wish to review the Template Paper for help formatting your essay according to the requirements.
