follow up question 16
my post:
Generally, being the joint commission compliance is what is required to be ready, respond as well as recover from a calamity or disaster. Placing focus on the organizational mission; it’s culture together with how devoted it is to expand the eminence and protection of upkeep being offered continuously is just enough for managing disasters. This organization is given the tasks of certifying and authorizing individuals and hospitals, counter checking their performance as well as determining the standards or services nurses are offering (Joint Commission Resources, 2012).
The company prepares the nurses with required skills concerning the readiness to responding to emergencies and offering the requisite apparatus to be used. The area covered by the joint international commission is wider than expected. The area has emergency sensing and warning devices. On the other hand, it carries out campaigns sensitizing the community on what to do, and at what time when a disaster happens. The total finance to be utilized before, during, and after being assigned by the organization, also has invested heavily in the modernization of the disaster management equipment. Am satisfied by the works of joint commission compliance is suitable to formulate, answer, and recuperate from tragedies, through individual pledges (Lam et al., (2018).).
The message that reverberates is the translucence at diverse stages and prioritizing patient’s concerns. The main work of nurses is to work hard to save and keep a lifes. This is among the jobs which require more professional ethics when dealing with customers. Transparency assists us in getting satisfied. Prioritizing patients care another aspect learned which seems to be repeatedly rising in the process. It was emotional on the realization that some persons purely depend on clients who are patients, and when one life is lost, other persons who were under the deceased mercies end up facing more life difficulties. Therefore, saving a single individual’s life is taken to have saved a million lives (Wagner et al., 2012).
My main point of contention is if I am the one involved in such a kind problem and am not well taken care of. Basically, there are two distinct lives involved that of a special and less special one. I resolve to offer the care that I expect to get in return, which remains my main focus. Since what one is suffering from today might be mine tomorrow. In conclusion, the loyalty of nurses must remain in offering services to its consumers who are patients, and they are their core individuals at their place of work cum responsibility (Joint Commission Resources, 2012).

respond to this
Hey Ryan, this is a nice discussion post. I like the way you present your thoughts. Joint Commission compliance is indeed important for the recovery from the disaster. However, other factors must also be considered for such a plan to be successful. I disagree with your thought because, by the use of its guidelines alone, the disaster management plan cannot be successful. The effort of the organization to safeguard the achievement of disaster management is another important factor to consider for successful operations.
In order to understand the effectiveness of the Joint Commission in disaster management, it is important to consider some queries:
What has been put in place to ensure that organizations follow the guidelines provided by The Joint Commission on disaster management and recovery?
What metrics have been put in place to evaluate the effectiveness of the emergency plan as proposed by the Joint Commission?
The organization should try to follow the guidelines provided in order to manage various disasters effectively. Further, they should be aware of their strengths and weaknesses in disaster management. Finally, the lesson that most resonates is regarding the role of nurses in the disaster management process. They are important resources in healthcare as they facilitate the success of various processes, including disaster management.
