Literacy strategies are integrated within curricula to make aspects of the discipline accessible and meaningful. Such strategies may integrate language, reading, and writing while also developing literacy skills such as vocabulary knowledge and reading fluency.   • How often have you attended professional development that supports your ability to integrate literacy into your content area?
  • Does your site have a schoolwide literacy plan? What are the pros and cons of a schoolwide literacy plan?
  • How do you use technology to integrate literacy into your lessons?

What information did you learn during your interview about literacy plans and supports that you will apply to your future professional practice?

Use any remaining field experience hours to assist the teacher in providing instruction and support to the class.

Create a chart to represent your observations of the two content teachers based on specific literacy practices that are being used to support all students in the classroom. At the bottom of the chart, write a 250-500 word reflection of the observations and interviews.

Submit the chart as well as the observation and interview notes to the LMS.

APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.
