You brought up a great point here, that God would bless and love a child brought into the world using the “designer baby” method. I do think there could be a place and a time for this, but with our healthcare improving and our abilities to treat complex diseases improving, is this really a necessity? I myself have a congenital heart defect, and I am able to live a healthy and happy life, just like others around me, and it has given me an extra drive to work in the field I chose. In cases like these, a person like me would not have been given a chance. I understand that I have a much more personal opinion on it than most, but it is something I think that needs to be looked at when discussing the topic. There comes a point where we as humans have to look at things and try to decide if we are trying to “play God” for lack of a better term.
