assignment physiology lab hospital tour day 2
When the nervous system, senses, and endocrine system all function normally, the body is able to maintain homeostasis. What happens when it does not? What happens if a blood clot restricts the flow of blood to the brain? What happens if sugar is not able to enter the cells to be used for energy? The “what ifs†could go on and on.
Today is day two of your tour through the hospital. Your tour guide informs you that you’ll be spending the entire day in the neurology department. This news is exciting because neurology is an area of particular interest to you, and one in which you have deep knowledge. When you mention this, the tour guide recognizes your expertise and asks you to help answer questions from others on the tour.
Later in the day, you accompany your mother-in-law to her doctor’s appointment to provide her with both familial support and medical knowledge.
