Exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) provides a wide array of physical and psychological short-term and long-term health benefits for mothers, infants and young children. It is shown to be the single most effective preventive intervention for reducing child mortality, with the potential of saving lives worldwide. However, there are some impediments to EBF. Evidence- based research articles reported that the most common factor for stopping breastfeeding early is lack of paid maternal leave ((Li, Fein, Chen, & Grummer-Strawn, 2008; Ogbuanu, Glover, Probst, Liu, & Hussey, 2011). Maternal characteristics such as age, income, education, knowledge and ethnicity have been associated with the initiation and continue of breastfeeding ( Weiner & Weiner, 2011)
