My personal strengths when it comes to professional presentations I would say is that I manage to keep my audience engaged in my presentation because I make it short, but interesting by including powerful pictures versus too many words. As for a weakness that I have when presenting, I would say that I get nervous at the beginning, but once I get started I get comfortable and feel confident about what I’m presenting. A few tips for business professionals who want to move from being good speakers to great ones: be concise (the fewer words, the better); never use bullet points (photos and images paired together are more memorable); don’t underestimate the power of your voice (raise and lower it for emphasis); give your audience something extra (unexpected moments will grab their attention); rehearse (the best speakers are the best because they practice — a lot)(Gallo, 2020). In order to have a positive and accepted presentation all these things should be taken into consideration plus practicing the presentation a couple of times to become familiar with the information will also help to decrease the nerves when presenting.

I believe that one weakness that I have regarding giving professional presentations is a lack of confidence in my verbal communication skills and feel that I am not coming across as knowledgeable to others. I feel that I am not articulate enough when I speak to persuade others to except my ideas. Because of this lack of confidence, I often ramble and tend to go off point. To overcome this in my presentation I will make sure that my information is well researched and that my message is clear and concise, to ensure that the audience fully understands the points I’m making and the rationale behind them. Keeping the presentation short and adding lots of pictures will help to keep the presentation interesting. I will be cautious about explaining and reiterating my thoughts to ensure that the audience can fully understand what I am saying (Hudson, 2017).
I would say that my strength would be that I do not get nervous when speaking in public. I connect easily with people, and I am comfortable talking about something I am passionate about and telling stories. Finding stories and anecdotes to make my presentation personal to me will help to make the presentation more interesting (Mar, 2012).
