as a PDF file
Length:
1 page, single spaced, 12pt font
Memo Format
You have
two minutes
to tell us a great story

one you could relay at 1) a staff meeting, 2) a new
employee orientation, 3) or a larger presentation that might include your boss, other key stakeholders,
or potential clients. You may think of this as the “beginning” of a larger
presentation. You may use any
story from any source (your own experience
—
this is preferred
—
a story told to you, or a published
story). Stories are used regularly in business presentations and can quickly and memorably teach
important concepts we want our
employees/boss/clients to think about, remember, and/or accept.
Thus, it is essential to end your story with its moral, or, in other words, the lesson you hope the
audience learns from recounting this story.
The day before you tell your story (
see Canvas/Syllabus for dates)
, submit a memo (i.e., sing
