Need an A for APA Paper!

Agency Proposal – Draft Assignment

You are at the point where you are finishing the draft of your course project. This week, you are asked to submit a completed draft to the instructor for an initial review and evaluation. A completed draft includes all the major elements of a final draft: a title page, proposal introduction, literature review, recommendations, conclusions, and references. This draft is graded using the same scoring guide that will be used to grade your final project submission.

Project – Preparation

In Unit 8, you will submit your initial draft of the course project (Agency Proposal – Draft) to your instructor. In Unit 9, you will submit it as a discussion post for a peer evaluation.

Take time this week to work on this assignment. If you have not already done so, read the Agency Proposal course project description given in the Resources to understand the scope and expectations of this substantial assignment.

The work that you have already done for the previous two assignments, Research Question and Media Literacy – An Agency Proposal, will be useful to you in your project. You may find that you would like to continue working on ideas that you began exploring in one or both of these assignments, or you may decide to choose an entirely new topic for your course project. To stay on track, this week you should finalize your topic, assemble your resources, and begin your draft.

Project – Requirements

To achieve a successful project experience and outcome, you are expected to meet the following requirements.

  • Introduction: See pages 27–28 in the APA manual regarding the contents of the introduction. Length: 1–2 pages.
  • Theoretical framework: Based on the review of the empirical literature, evaluate and synthesize 3–5 empirically tested intervention models you believe are relevant to the form of abuse or neglect you have chosen for this assignment. Thoroughly describe each intervention model and its theoretical underpinnings. Length: 4–6 pages.
  • Literature review: Analyze and describe the empirical literature pertaining to the efficacy of family preservation services for the form of child abuse you chose for this project. Length: 6–8 pages.
  • Recommendations: Based on your review of the empirical literature and your theoretical framework, propose one intervention model and explain how it meets the agency’s goal to reduce the number of children removed from homes because of this type of maltreatment. In addition, analyze the implications for practice in the human services field. Length: 1–2 pages.
  • Conclusion: In addition to summarizing your findings, reflect on how this research process relates to and can influence the professional practice of those in child welfare. Length: 1–2 pages.
  • Written communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • APA formatting: References and citations are formatted according to APA sixth edition style and formatting guidelines.
  • Number of references: Minimum of ten references, of which six should be from peer-reviewed journals (five of these from journals published within the last five years).
  • Length of paper: The body of your paper (that is, not including the title page, reference page, or appendices) should be 12–18 typed, double-spaced pages.
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 point.
