eng102 i have 7 deliverables that need to be completed

There are seven (7) deliverables (papers) that I need. Upon completion, please indicate the deliverable # at the top of the first page. I have included a few attachments on the topic, along with a template that you can use.

Research Topic: Outsourcing Failures in SME’s

Deliverables 1-7:

Deliverable #1 – D4

For this post, you will interview an expert in the topic you are researching. This is a form of action research that will provide you with qualitative information to help you ground yourself in the research topic. This is a fantastic way for you to ask specific questions you have about your topic, since you can ask targeted questions that you may not readily see answers for in the literature. If you are confused by a premise in the research you have conducted, you are able to ask your expert for clarification and follow-up. Interviews move beyond the text and allow for a form of action in your research. Your expert will typically not be a friend or relative providing anecdotal experiences as tied to your topic. Rather, an expert will be someone who is employed in the field you are researching. Experts include a number of professionals to include instructors, police officers, lawyers, business professionals, published authors, medical professionals, or scholars in the field. As you ask your questions, you will most certainly become more grounded in the topic you are exploring.

Research/Interview
Conduct a brief interview with an expert on your topic.

  • Use the following guide to help you prepare and develop interview questions.
    • How to Conduct an Interview (Attached)
  • An in-person interview is the preferred method, but if you are able to use cloud conferencing such as Zoom, or Skype that works well too.
  • Take careful notes. If you interview via Zoom, or Skype

Think
Consider what you learned from the interview and what perspectives were brought to light as part of your interview.

  • Did you learn something new?
  • Do you feel this helps to clarify, or add to your thesis?

Write
In your post, order your interview as follow:

  • Name of expert
  • Title of expert
  • Name of organization
  • Summary of interview

Deliverable #2 – PP4

Outline Requirements:

  • Use the “Argumentative Paper Format and Outline Template” outline template attached. Overall instructions are provided prior to the template. Keep these in mind, but only include template elements starting on page 3. You do not need to fully flesh out your essay in this assignment. Simply fill out template elements and include a reference page. No need to include a title page.
  • Your outline should include at least 5-6 credible sources.
  • Your Outline should be 2-3 pages in length.
  • The outline and citation formatting should conform with APA Style.
  • Outlines should include all components of the template. These include:

      • Counter Argument Body Paragraph #5
        • (Note topic sentence and evidence)
      • Conclusion (Sum up conclusion)

Deliverable #3 – D5

For this assignment, you will be exploring the topic/question from the Research Proposal and Preliminary Bibliography (Attached). You will also start reading and thinking about the sources found in that project. Your purposes for the presentation are primarily to explore and to question. Above all, resist closure and avoid making an argument or taking a final stance on the issue. You still can–and should–have opinions and reactions to your sources, but you shouldn’t settle your entire research question yet.

This assignment will not result in a single, polished opinion on your topic, as that is what your portfolio project is intended to be. Rather, you will create a PowerPoint presentation.

Initial Post
Post your PowerPoint and address the following in your presentation:

  • Reintroduce your topic and research questions: reuse elements of your Research Proposal here, but keep it brief, i.e. one paragraph. Be sure to note your thesis.
  • Summarize and respond to two of your research sources.
    – Provide a direct hyperlink when you first introduce the source and an APA citation at the end of your post.
    – Use APA in-text citations for any quotations, or paraphrases. It is best to start paraphrasing your sources here.
  • Pose exploratory questions about your source.
  • Keep your own perspective open-ended and exploratory. Don’t commit to a “side” or a stance yet; consider the issue from multiple angles.

Deliverable #4 – CT5

Comparative Analysis – Understanding the Rhetorical Situation

For this assignment, you are to synthesize the information gathered thus far to provide a balanced look at your topic and thesis. This is your chance to show your audience that you have thoroughly researched both sides of your topic as you move past the simple assumptions of being for the issue at hand or against it. This essay will show depth and complexity as you present the various sides of the topic in a balanced and academic voice.

With this assignment, you are conducting a stakeholder analysis of your topic. You are to consider the various people or institutions that have a stake in the topic you are exploring. For this essay you will consider four stakeholder entities.

Research

Review the notes from your interview with an expert. Assess whether you have enough information to present all sides of the topic. If your research seems to lean toward one side, remember that research writing is a process. Because of the recursive nature of research writing, continue searching for, evaluating, and annotating sources until you feel you have a thorough understanding of the topic and the various stakeholders.

For each stakeholder entity, research the following:

  • Who are your stakeholders?
    • Identify at least four specific stakeholders or stakeholder groups.
  • What are their values?
  • Why do they think this issue is important?
  • What do they have to gain or lose?
  • What is their goal regarding your topic?
  • Look at this topic from their various perspectives and examine what these voices have to say.
    • How are their positions similar or different from one another?
    • Discuss how and why the answers to the questions could be interpreted in different way.
    • Note how common ground might be reached with your topic for each stakeholder.

Write

Write an essay in which you show balanced analysis of your topic through the perspectives of the stakeholders identified.

  • Introduction: Your introduction should provide a comprehensive overview of the topic. You will provide background and context, as you note the main concerns of the issue at hand. As you conclude this introduction, map out the stakeholder you plan to identify in your paper.
  • Body: Note the stakeholders and their positions. For each stakeholder, write out at least one paragraph noting who they are, what their positions are, and why this topic is significant to their point of view and or causes.
  • Body: 2 to 3 paragraphs. Provide analysis and synthesis of the various viewpoints.
    – How are various positions noted in the body paragraphs citing single stakeholders similar and/or different?
    – What connects the stakeholders?
    – What do you see as similarities or differences?
    – What is the confounding issue that makes this topic so complex?
  • Conclusion: In your conclusion, you can bring in your own topic thesis noted in ENG102- M3 – Critical Thinking (Attached).
    • Be sure to synthesize the information you present in your body paragraphs in tandem with your own claim.
    • Be sure to address any gaps and issues for the future as tied to your claim.

Headers Levels: You do not need to title them exactly as noted here. Note: Do not include a header for your introduction per APA.

  • Stakeholders and Their Positions (level 1 header)
  • Stakeholder Positions (level 1 header)
  • Connecting Stakeholders (level 1 header)
  • Opinion on similarities and differences (level 2 header)
  • Confounding Issues (level 1 header)
  • Conclusion (level 1 header)

Required elements to turn in with submission:

  • Appendix – following references:

Requirements:

  • Length: 1,000-1,100 words
  • 5-7 sources
  • Include some quotations from your sources.
  • Paraphrase 5 to 7 other main ideas
  • Use third person.
  • Assert your academic voice.
  • Format essay and citations/references per APA style.

Deliverable #5 – D7

Write
Additionally, now that you have conducted research and drafted your paper, has your opinion on the topic stayed the same, or changed in some way? As you reflect on your feedback, in 200 to 300 words, present a plan for the argument you will be presenting in your paper.

In a few sentences each, identify and explain how you plan to develop the following elements of your draft.

  • Rhetorical devices such as ethos, pathos, and logos
  • Thesis statement (the paper’s position),
  • At least two claims, building upon last week’s research and assignment
  • At least one counter argument and ideas for rebuttal
  • Note any questions or concerns regarding the development of your argument so that someone may provide advice for moving forward

Deliverable #6 – D8

Respond to the following:
Consider the work you delved into as related to considering various arguments surrounding your topic.

  • How did your thoughts contribute to the dialogue?
  • How did your research inform your topic further?

Consider the following questions as tied to Bloom’s taxonomy of learning as you write this paper in tandem with your reflections:

1. Remembering: What did I do over the course of the term?
2. Understanding: What fundamental things do I understand about writing an argumentative essay?
3. Applying: Where can I use what I learned again?
4. Analyzing: Using feedback, do I see patterns in my work that inform on what I have done so far?
5. Evaluating: How would you rate yourself as being able to write an argumentative paper at the start of the class in comparison to now at the end of the class?
6. Creating: Outside of writing, how might I use what I learned in this class in other endeavors?
