Read chapter 4 of the class textbook and review the attached PowerPoint presentation.  Once done work on the following questions;

1.  In your own words, describe what’s meant by the following terms;

                                       (a) cultural belief system

                                       (b) worldview

                                        (c) paradigm

2.  Mention and explain what are the primary characteristics of the three major health beliefs system:  magico-religious, scientific, and holistic paradigms?

3.  What are the differences between professional and folk care systems?  Explain.

4.  What is allopathic medicine?
